EPS allows prescribers to send prescriptions electronically to a pharmacy of the patient’s choice. This makes the prescribing and dispensing process more efficient and convenient for patients and staff.

You can nominate Dearne Valley Pharmacy by filling out our sign up form. We will send you a confirmation e-mail acknowledging your sign up.

Yes – Prescription information is submitted electronically to the central part of the EPS, a sub-system within Spine. All information transmitted electronically between clinical systems is encrypted so it cannot be understood if intercepted.

This service is completely safe and secure. Personal details and order history are completely confidential. No details are shared with a third party.

Deliveries within the local area (Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster) will be delivered by our in house delivery driver service.

Deliveries outside the local area, we use specialist packaging to prepare and send via courier service such as royal mail 24 or 48 hour. All medications sent through courier services are send in plain and discreet packaging to maintain confidentiality.

Tracking numbers will be sent for courier services to you if we have your e-mail or mobile details on record. You will be able to use this tracking number to see when a delivery attempt was made.

No – we will never charge for our prescription medication delivery service.

We will confirm before delivering when the best time would be to deliver your medication.

If you wont be home, as long as there are no children or pets that can access the medication we can post the delivery or leave in a safe place.

Certain medication we would need someone to be present to accept the delivery which include fridge items and controlled drugs. We can also arrange alternate delivery address or delivery to work places if this is more convenient.

Unfortunately we currently have no options for delivering outside of the UK.

As with all pharmacies, you can send medication back to us for disposal. Just let us know and we can send you a pre-paid bag to return your medicines in.

Additional Free NHS Services

We provide services as part of the NHS contract, just like any high street pharmacy. These services include:

New Medicines service

The NMS is a confidential service to support the initial stages of medicine initiation, for specific chronic conditions.

CPCS

Your GP can refer you to the community pharmacy consultation service (CPCS) for a range of conditions for quick and convenient access to care.

Carehome Services

We can provide a complete package from medicine packaging and delivering to assisting with missing prescriptions and out of stocks.

Disposal of unwanted medicine

You can send your unused or out of date medication to us for safe disposal. let your GP or Pharmacist know if you have stopped taking any medication.

Emergency supply of medicines

If you are unable to contact your doctor and are in an emergency need for any of your regular medication, we may be able to help. A fee may also apply.

Additional NHS Services

We can dispense both electronic (EPS2) and paper NHS prescriptions, as well as private prescriptions. Keep an eye out for additional services coming soon!
